Labor Day Next Monday

Just adding something later- At the time I was making this article, Labor Day was actually next Monday

Labor Day is a holiday that happens on the first Monday of every September and is public to everyone. It is also part of the longer weekend commonly known as "Labor Day weekend". It is about honoring the American Labor Movement

Where Did it come from?

In the later parts of the 1800's, some people worked 12 hours a day, and all week, just to support themselves and their family. This combined with poor conditions at the workplace itself leaded to many strikes and protests. Eventually, people thought of a holiday to celebrate all the work that people were doing. The first Labor Day was a parade in New York City, but later, Oregon was the first to recognize Labor Day as a public holiday in 1887.

Where is it celebrated?

Although this article only told the origin of the holiday in America, it is also celebrated in many other countries, Canada's Labor day is also on the first Monday of September. There is another holiday like Labor Day called International Workers' Day, it is celebrated in more then 80 countries, and it is on May 1st.
